The Special Education staff at Smithtown are dedicated educators who use multi-sensory approaches for learning. This   means we diversify curriculum to meet the academic needs of our students. Every student is unique in his/her learning style. Some children are visual learners, others are auditory learners, and many are kinesthetic learners. The key to teaching is to know how a student learns. It is our goal as educators to assess the special needs of students and to create a school environment that is educational, nurturing, and secure so kids can feel good about themselves and take pride in their educational goals.
