Dear Parents,

  I would like to begin a Secret Reader program in your child’s classroom.  There will be a  schedule of available times sent out monthly.  I scattered the days and times as best as I could with our classroom schedule this year.  I will try to vary it, when possible, to accommodate your schedules. If you are interested and find that the times don’t ever match up with your availability, I will do my best to be flexible.  Just let me know what would be better for you.

  Each session will last approximately 15-20 minutes.  Please bring a book or two that will take at least 10 minutes to read.  The last five minutes will be a question and answer time.  Please come with at least 3 questions to ask the children about the book(s) you have read. If you would like to plan a more elaborate activity, and think that you will need more than the 15-20 minutes given, please contact me to check our schedule.  Some days may be more flexible than others. 

  Any member of your family can come– whoever is available– Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, etc.  (As of now the reader must be 18 or older, but that may change.)

REMEMBER– Keep it a secret.  I don’t want the children to know who’s coming until that person knocks on the door.

SHHHHH… It’s a secret!!!
