The "Strictly Students Film Festival" April 1 - 2, 2005 at the Smithtown High School Auditorium Mr. Needles and the Arts and Communications committee of the Industry Advisory Board are coordinating a juried student media art and film festival encompassing all the high schools in Nassau and Suffolk to take place April 1-2, 2005 at the Smithtown High School. This festival will be the first of its kind on Long Island, and it will feature three different categories of work: feature, documentary, and animation. Each school district may enter up to three films. We anticipate giving cash scholarships to students in each category, as well as a corresponding technological film grant (equipment such as digital film cameras) to the winning school. We are currently working on securing sponsors for the student and school district awards and jury members to judge the students' work. If you are interested in assisting in any way, or if you have any leads that may help please contact the committee at strictlystudents@aol.com.

To date, we have received a very good response and we are seeking additional volunteers." The evening will kick off with a lively panel discussion, followed by a career fair featuring displays by successful professional artists in the fields of writing, music, fine arts and media.
